What the call can sound like
An illustration. Real calls vary with the business.
- Phone menu“For account and billing questions, press 2…”
- BookPicks the account option and waits.
- Recording“Your estimated wait time is 20 minutes.”
- BookHolds. Recordings and music never count as a person.
- Agent“Thank you for calling. Can I have your name?”
- Book“One moment please.” Your phone rings and you take it from there.
How it works
- 1
Text what you want
Spectrum, that you'd like to ask about your rate, and that you want a call when a person answers.
- 2
The assistant waits
It handles the menu and the hold.
- 3
You ask
Your phone rings when a person is on the line. Ask what plans and promotions are available.
What to put in your text
- That the call is to Spectrum and which department, such as account services
- That you want to be rung when a person answers
- Your current bill and plan nearby, for you to refer to on the call
Good to know
- Book can't promise a lower rate. What's offered depends on your account and the day you call.
- It doesn't accept offers or change your plan. You do that with the person you're put through to.
- Things worth asking about: what plans are available at your address, what the bill will be when a promotion ends, and whether equipment fees can come off.
- Book calls regular US and Canadian business phone numbers. A call ends after about an hour as a safety limit.
