Book a restaurant reservation by text
Plenty of good restaurants only take reservations by phone, and calling in the middle of a workday is a chore. Text Book what you want and an AI assistant makes the call for you, then texts you the result.
Example text“Table for 4 at Luigi's in Austin, Friday at 7pm, under Sam.”
How it works
1. Text the details
The restaurant, party size, day and time, and the name for the booking.
2. Book checks the place with you
It looks up the restaurant and shows you the address and phone number it will call. You reply YES.
3. The call and the confirmation
The assistant calls, books the table and texts you the confirmation details.
What to put in your text
- The restaurant's name and the city or street (so the right location is called)
- How many people, the date and the time
- The name the table should be under
- How flexible you are, such as “7 or 8 is fine”
Good to know
- If the restaurant is full at your time, the assistant doesn't pick a different one for you unless you said that's fine. It asks the restaurant what is open and texts you the choices.
- It can call when the restaurant opens if they are closed right now.
- Book calls regular US and Canadian business phone numbers.
Questions
- Is a real person calling the restaurant?
- No. An AI assistant makes the call. It doesn't claim to be human, and if the restaurant asks, it says it is an AI assistant booking for you.
- What if my time isn't available?
- Unless you said you are flexible, the assistant asks what the restaurant has open, doesn't commit to anything, and texts you the options to choose from.
- Do I need an app?
- No. You can text Book, or use the chat on the website after you sign up.
