Refill a prescription by text
Pharmacy refill lines are slow and full of menus. Text Book the pharmacy and what you need refilled; an AI assistant works through the phone menu, speaks to the pharmacy and texts you the result.
Example text“Refill my lisinopril at the CVS on Main Street, pickup. Rx 1234567, birthday 3/4/1985.”
How it works
1. Text the pharmacy and prescription
The pharmacy, the medication or prescription number, and pickup or delivery.
2. Check it before the call
Book repeats everything it will say, including what it will read out, so you can fix a mistake first.
3. Refill requested
The assistant calls, answers the phone menu, requests the refill and texts you what the pharmacy said.
What to put in your text
- The pharmacy name and the street or city
- The medication name or the prescription number
- Your date of birth, if the pharmacy asks for it to find your record
- Pickup or delivery
Good to know
- Your date of birth, prescription number, medication and insurance are kept only while the request is open. They are masked in Book's records and in the saved call transcript once it finishes.
- The assistant says these details out loud only when the pharmacy asks, and only what is asked for.
- Book doesn't give medical advice or change a prescription. It only asks the pharmacy for the refill you asked for.
Questions
- Is it safe to give a prescription number by text?
- Book keeps these details only until your request is finished and then masks them. You can read the details in our privacy policy before you decide.
- Can it get through the pharmacy's phone menu?
- Yes. The assistant can press keys or say a short answer when a menu asks for one, and it reaches a person when the menu allows.
- What if the pharmacy needs something else?
- It doesn't guess. It asks the pharmacy what is needed and texts you.
