What the call can sound like
An illustration. Real calls vary with the business.
- Phone menu“If you are calling about an existing claim, press 2…”
- BookChooses the option for an existing claim and waits.
- Recording“Due to high call volume, wait times are longer than usual.”
- BookStays on the line.
- Agent“Claims line, how can I help?”
- Book“One moment please.” Your phone rings, and you do the rest with them.
How it works
- 1
Text which office and what it's about
Your state's office, the department if you know it, and that you want a call when a person answers.
- 2
The assistant waits
It handles the menu and the hold for you.
- 3
You talk to the office
Your phone rings when a person is on the line. You verify yourself and ask your question.
What to put in your text
- Your state and the office or line you want
- That you want to be rung when a person answers
- Your claim details ready for you to give them yourself
Good to know
- Book doesn't file, change or appeal a claim. It only waits on hold and connects you to a person.
- Book never has or says your Social Security number. The office verifies you directly, and you're the one who does it.
- Some lines have limited hours or cap the number of calls. If the line is closed or drops, Book texts you and you can ask it to try again.
- Book calls regular US and Canadian business phone numbers. A call ends after about an hour as a safety limit.
Questions
Can the AI file or manage my claim?
No. It only waits on hold. You talk to the office once a person answers.
Is it safe for something this sensitive?
Book never receives your Social Security number or says it on the call. The office verifies you, not Book.
What if the line is always busy?
Book can only reach what's reachable. If the line is busy or closed, it tells you by text.
Is Book free?
Yes, Book is free to use. Standard message and data rates from your mobile carrier may apply to texts.
Book is an independent service and is not affiliated with any state or federal agency. For how to file, deadlines and what you're eligible for, use your state's official website or office.
