What the call can sound like
An illustration. Real calls vary with the business.
- Phone menu“If you're calling about an upcoming trip, press or say 1…”
- BookAnswers the menu with the option that matches your request.
- Recording“All of our agents are assisting other customers…”
- BookWaits. If the line stays up, it keeps holding.
- Agent“Thanks for calling. How can I help you today?”
- Book“One moment please.” Your phone rings. Press any key and you're talking to the agent.
How it works
- 1
Text what the call is about
Delta, what you need (a change, a refund, a baggage claim) and that you want a call when someone answers.
- 2
The assistant holds the line
It handles the menu, including voice menus that ask you to say a few words, and waits.
- 3
Take the call
Your phone rings when a person is on. Press a key to connect. The assistant drops off.
What to put in your text
- Delta, and whether it's a change, a cancellation, a refund, baggage or something else
- That you want to be rung when a person answers
- Your confirmation code or ticket details handy for yourself. They'll be asked for on the call, and you'll be the one speaking.
Good to know
- For something urgent on the day you fly, an airline's app or the airport counter may be quicker. Book is best when you'd otherwise sit on hold.
- Book can't change or refund a ticket by itself. Anything that needs your name, ticket details or a decision is something you tell the agent when you're put through.
- Book shows you the phone number it found before calling. Check it's the Delta line you want and reply YES.
- Book calls regular US and Canadian business phone numbers. A call ends after about an hour as a safety limit.
- If the line drops before a person answers, or you don't pick up, Book texts you.
Questions
How long will it wait?
As long as the line stays up, up to about an hour as a safety limit. Book rings you as soon as a person answers.
Does it work during disruptions when everyone is calling?
It can wait on a long line for you, but it can't make the airline's queue shorter. A very busy line may still drop calls, and Book tells you if that happens.
Can the AI rebook my flight?
No. It waits and puts you through, and you make the changes with the agent. That keeps your ticket details and decisions in your hands.
Is this affiliated with Delta?
No. Book is independent and isn't affiliated with Delta Air Lines.
Is Book free?
Yes, Book is free to use. Standard message and data rates from your mobile carrier may apply to texts.
